Strawberry Margaritas

Grandma Joan gave us strawberries.

Z’s response: Mmmm… can’t wait to eat them!

A’s response: Strawberry Mojitos?

Z’s reply: Strawberry Margaritas!

Strawberry Margaritas

(Yields 2 Drinks)

6 oz. Tequila

2 oz. Triple Sec

3 oz. lime juice

5 strawberries

3.5 tbsp sugar

Put the strawberries in a glass and muddle. Using a blender might make the mashing easier, but would also mean more clean up later.  An upside to muddling? The strawberries have more texture than if you puree them in a blender.

Stick muddled strawberries in freezer to chill.

Juice two small limes (for about 3oz of juice) and combine with the triple sec and tequila and then mix in the sugar.

Combine with muddled strawberries — chill a bit more.

Serve, sip, and relax.

Don’t worry, Grandma.  We have saved some to consume without alcohol!
